Pharmacy technicians work closely with a pharmacist to ensure the health and safety of their patients. From handling prescriptions to processing insurance claims and more, Mayo’s 20-week program will prepare you for all aspects of the job. Our certificate program offers a flexible curriculum that includes 3 months of online, classroom, and lab education, and 2 months of clinical rotations. This approach allows you to quickly begin your pharm tech career.

A Flexible and Tuition-Free Path to Certification

Flexible Program

This 20-week program is offered at multiple campus locations, including Minnesota, Arizona, Florida, and Wisconsin, and takes less than 6 months to complete. The first 12 weeks are fully online and the final 8 weeks are on-site simulation coursework and clinical rotations.

Tuition-Free

You read that correctly! The Mayo Clinic Workforce Development Scholarship is automatically granted to all admitted students, covering the full cost of the Pharm Tech program’s tuition. The program also provides all admitted students a $3,500 stipend, paid biweekly over the final 8 weeks.

Prepare for CPhT Certification

As a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board–recognized education/training program, this training meets or exceeds the requirements to sit for the national certification exam. Upon passing the exam, you’ll become a certified pharmacy technician (CPhT).
